Drexel University

Located in Philadelphia, Pa., Drexel University was founded in 1891 by Anthony J. Drexel. The University was established as Drexel Institute of Art, Science, and Technology and focused on educations in the practical arts. It wasn't until 1970 the Drexel Institute was given full university status and changed its name to Drexel University.

Drexel is a private university with the enrollment of 17,000+. The school is known for its excellent engineering program. Drexel University had established the first two years in the engineering program as very rigorous with an intense amount of engineering classes to begin your college life. It was established this way to promote engineering and retention rates but does the opposite by causing more students to dropout. This program has since been dropped as it did the exact opposite.

The University isn't all about engineering as it also boasts a nationally ranked business school as well. The department ranks number 99th in the country. Most of the students are enrolled in the school's business administration program.

Some times referred to as the ultimate internship, Drexel students have access to an internet database of jobs and the student will typically has 18 months worth of internships upon graduation. The university also offers a number of programs in the form of night classes for those individuals who have to work throughout the day.
